Healing

Healing is another form of the use of positive intention or affirmation. Many scientific studies have focussed on healing demonstrating significant improvement through analyses of targeted groups, when compared with control groups. One impressive controlled study in 1988 was of nearly 400 patients in a coronary care unit, half of which were, unbeknownst to them, targeted for receipt of prayer from a local Christian group. There were no statistical differences between the groups beforehand; afterwards those who had been prayed for had significantly less severe symptoms and fewer instances of pneumonia, they also required fewer heart drugs, fewer antibiotics and diuretics, and lealternative health caress assistance on a ventilator than the patients who hadn’t been prayed for.

Studies have been made of prayer, healing, affirmation, reiki, and shaman practices, Buddhists, Christians, Jewish Kabbalists, Qigong practitioners and crystal healers. One interesting study reviewed the health of the healers as well as those being healed and showed that the healers scored even more extensive benefits from the practice than their subjects.

Compare this with the Japanese Dr Emoto’s work on crystalline water structure. Dr Emoto has proven the effect not only of prayers and meditation on water crystals, but also of words and labels put upon the containers of study pieces. A dam in Japan with originally rather ugly muddy crystals was prayed over for an hour by monks at a local temple – afterwards the frozen water had become ‘brilliant-white hexagonal crystals-within a crystal’.

Attaching abstract words or phrases to tubes of water, such as ‘love’, ‘thank you’, ‘angel’, ‘soul’ will produce beautiful crystal patterns, whereas ‘hate’, ‘you fool’, or other derogatory remarks create deformed shapes. Even images – such as a smiling face or an angry face will produce differently formed crystals.

The effect of intent or words can be easily tested with the help of some left over cooked food.

  • With two containers place equal portions of the food in each.
  • Keep the containers together
  • Either write labels for them both, or speak to them each day! Such things as love; peace; bliss; or health for one, and hate; chaos; evil; or disease for the other
  • Watch the effects over a period of a few days.
This can be a compelling demonstration of the power of thought and intention.
